Traffic Engineer - Signal Design/Traffic Studies

Impact is experiencing tremendous growth in the transportation sector, and we're seeking a motivated Traffic Engineer to help propel our Signal Design and Traffic Study group to new heights.

Key Responsibilities 

• Perform conceptual and final signal design, interchange access turn lanes, and urban roadway projects for both public and private sector clients.
• Develop signal design, including electrical and programing detail
• Reading and understanding design manuals and standards
• Interpret designs
• Review plans and prepare or review project special previsions, contract documents, and cost estimates 
• Support proposal development and contribute to business growth initiatives 
• Perform additional related duties as assigned 

Experience: 

• BSCE from ABET accredited engineering program or graduating December 2026 or May 2027
• 6 months of experience in traffic engineering
• Engineering design, written, oral, and communication skills
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in traffic engineering
• Proficiency using AutoCAD or other civil engineering drafting software
• Experience with NCDOT and/or SCDOT as well as NC and SC municipalities is desired
• Experience reading plans and specifications for traffic management during construction, pavement marking and signage, and traffic signals
• Experience developing signal designs and or ITS plans (preferred)
