Software DeveloperThe Opportunity: As a software sustainment engineer, you play a pivotal role in an application’s functional life. From troubleshooting to fixing bugs, you use your operations and maintenance skills to ensure that things run smoothly. As a software sustainment engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll have an operational impact from day one. With a team of professionals, you’ll maintain applications and keep systems working. You and your team will use programming and scripting languages as you continuously enhance and maintain applications, troubleshoot any issues that arise operationally, and upgrade systems to meet security requirements. The world can’t wait.You Have:5+ years of experience developing and sustaining Python applications, including concurrent or multi-process systems, in an Agile environment3+ years of experience working with real-time or event-driven architectures such as queues, and producer or consumer pipelines, or distributed or microservices systemsExperience with AWS cloud services, including S3, Batch, Lambda, or Step FunctionsExperience with containerization such as Docker, and Infrastructure-as-Code such as CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormationExperience with scientific or geospatial Python libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, pandas, and pyproj, for processing scientific dataExperience designing, debugging, and testing software components against design specifications, including unit or integration testingKnowledge of source control such as Git, and CI/CD pipelines in a DevSecOps environmentAbility to lead design and code reviews, and collaborate cross-functionallyTS/SCI clearanceBachelor's degreeNice If You Have:Experience with AWS Batch, ECR, Step Functions, OpenSearch, SQS/SNS, or KinesisExperience applying statistical or optimization methods in code such as similarity or distance scoring, probabilistic matching, or optimal assignment or matching algorithmsExperience with Flask or another lightweight Python web frameworkExperience with JavaScript for web-based visualization or front-end developmentKnowledge of shell scripting and build or deployment automationAbility to comprehend scientific algorithms and the theories backing themClearance:Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information;TS/SCI clearance is required.CompensationAt Booz Allen, we celebrate your contributions, provide you with opportunities and choices, and support your total well-being. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
